# Family image publication copies

The portrait and document reproductions preserve the visible historical evidence. On 29 September 2026, camera metadata and appended auxiliary camera data were removed from the site copies without recompressing the main images. Decoded image pixels, dimensions and available color profiles were checked and remain unchanged. Untouched preservation files are retained separately, outside the deployed site.

- `james-mcpadden-bridgeport-portrait.jpg`: family-identified portrait of James McPadden, photographed at a Bridgeport studio on an unknown date. Family publication consent is recorded; the current educational display and faithful research download have a scoped project review. No restoration, recoloring or historical detail was added.
- `mary-mcpadden-1904-document.jpg`: supplied photograph of a family-held page, displayed and downloadable for study with recorded family permission. The lower date is partly clipped; this is not a complete facsimile. The paper’s original-versus-reproduction status remains uncertain. Permission to show the supplied photograph does not certify the paper’s authenticity or legal effect.

Mary’s document is presented for historical family research. It does not establish present ownership, a modern property claim or permission to enter any property. The site does not seek recovery of the land.

## James's portrait — copy chain checked 3 October 2026

The subject is identified through a verified family heirloom, not facial recognition. The family has already permitted eventual website publication and requested no family credit. This consent is recorded; it is not an outstanding request.

The studio imprint identifies H. J. Seeley, 922 Main Street, Bridgeport. The portrait belongs to James's American life, after his October 1904 arrival; the exact sitting date and occasion remain unknown. The studio's documented use of that address through 1922 is not a latest possible date for this photograph.

The full-size Site JPEG was reproduced exactly from the preserved family-supplied file by removing camera metadata and appended auxiliary data. Its 2683 × 3883 pixels and embedded color profile are unchanged. The 96-, 800- and 1600-pixel-wide WebP copies were independently reproduced byte-for-byte using the recorded proportional-resizing recipe. They are smaller copies of the same evidence, not restored or AI-generated portraits. Layouts may crop the visible presentation; the full-size image remains unchanged.

Family consent and technical verification support the current scoped educational use. The 7 October 2026 project review covers the metadata-clean portrait, its three mechanical display sizes and the supplied document photograph. Retain McPadden family collection credit, the studio attribution for James and the source-history caveats. This is not an open license, proof of a studio copyright transfer, or clearance for general republication, new creative adaptations or commercial-book use. Private research originals and the living custodian's details are not part of the download package.

## Publication scope

This is a project-authored research or interpretation note, not an original historical record. Its publication review covers this text only, not the linked images, maps or documents.
