## Queenstown tender passengers, circa 1903

- Local image: `queenstown-tender-c1903-loc.jpg`.
- Library of Congress [catalogue item 00651064](https://www.loc.gov/item/00651064/); stereograph resource [stereo.1s27419](https://www.loc.gov/resource/stereo.1s27419/).
- American Stereoscopic Company, New York, copyright 1903; catalogue title: *Good bye to old Ireland—passengers on tender at Queenstown*.
- [Repository JPEG](https://tile.loc.gov/storage-services/service/pnp/stereo/1s20000/1s27000/1s27400/1s27419r.jpg). The current site copy was byte-matched to this file on 3 October 2026.
- Rights advisory: **No known restrictions on publication.** Retain Library of Congress, Prints and Photographs Division credit and the item link; the advisory is not a new license or worldwide guarantee.
- The complete stereo card illustrates the tender process, not James's own boarding, companions or voyage. It does not establish a visit to an office or an exact tender route.
- Site treatment: proportional image display. Embedded production metadata relates to repository digitization, not the date of James's journey or family camera details.

The jaunting-car JPEG was also byte-matched to its repository download on 3 October 2026. These two photographs have individual scoped website/download/current-display assessments; neither clears another photograph by association.

## Railway interpretation

The Railway Preservation Society of Ireland timeline records the Great Southern & Western's purchase of the Waterford, Limerick & Western in 1901: https://www.steamtrainsireland.com/museum-tickets/learning/irish-railway-history

Map sections are storytelling units, not a verified count of railway companies, trains or transfers. No suitable October 1904 service timetable has yet been incorporated. Total travel time, a possible overnight stop and James's actual connections remain unresolved.
